Test Roll

I recently acquired a Canon AE-1. It was in sketchy shape so I shot a test roll with not much hope for an exciting outcome. I'm really pleased with the results!

The only glitch in the system is sometimes I can't press the shutter release button in. I tried to troubleshoot online but am having problems figuring out a solution. I may have to hunt down another battery and see if that works. I'm so impatient!

All images shot on Kodak Gold 400.

  1. I've also got a Canon AE-1 with a sticky shutter. I've found that it pretty much always fires if I push the shutter straight down - as in, finger tip directly perpendicular to camera body/shutter. No pad of the finger-ness. Occasionally that works, but mine is far more reliable with an up and down method. Good luck!

    1. Thank you Alison! I tried that last night and it worked! It's nice to know you're using the same camera.
